Local opinion: Conover’s failure on fentanyl disrespects my son’s memory

My son, Jacob Guerrero, was a cyclist, tennis player, hiker, and fan of professional fights in Vegas. He had a job and a girlfriend. He was happy.

On May 30, 2020, I was out shopping to buy a gift for Jacob when I got a call from his uncle telling me Jacob was non-responsive at his home. I dropped everything and drove there as fast as I could. When I arrived, there were six paramedics working on Jacob, trying to resuscitate him. They drove Jacob to the hospital in an ambulance, while I followed behind, praying for him. Jacob did not make it. I was heartbroken, devastated, crushed. I lost my beloved only son.
